Do I need to organise anything prior to my online session?

With just a little bit of preplanning, mindbody therapies such as hypnotherapy work extremely well online. There can even be the benefit of you relaxing more easily since you’re in a safe and familiar environment. By taking care of these few details in advance, you can set yourself up for an optimal experience.


  • A private, comfortable space

Choose a space for your session where you can get super comfortable so you can relax deeply, such as your bed or sofa, and where you won't be disturbed by pets or other house members.

  • Good internet connection

You’ll need a strong, fast internet connection of at least 25 MB per second. You can check your internet speed here: 


If there are other people in the house at the time of your session, please ask that they don’t use the internet during your session so you can maintain a good connection.


  • Zoom installed on your computer


The Zoom basic app is free to install. Please have it downloaded, set up and ready before your session.


  • Headset


You’ll need a headset with a microphone attached that can be positioned in front of the mouth. This is super important so that we can hear each other clearly. Ear buds tend to fall out during the deeply relaxed hypnotic state and the microphone will not pick up the voice at the whispered levels common during hypnotherapy. You can purchase them very cheaply at most office supply stores.


Check that your headset is working properly prior to your session.


  • Computer

You’ll need a laptop or desktop computer which is connected to mains power.


  • Notifications


Ensure that you won’t be disturbed during your session by turning your phone on silent, turning off notifications on your computer and putting a sign on the front door if needed. Make sure pets are attended to and out of the room. It’s essential that you can focus deeply without interruptions.
